過去にはrocksteadycrewやtonytouch funkdobiestの来日公演の前座を務めた経歴があり、現在はzulunationのbackdjを務めるなど精力的に活動しているdj-yasu。pharcyde megamixの大hitでもお馴染みの彼が、自身のexpress yourselfシリーズの最新作をリリース。アングラとclassicsとの絶妙なmixが人気の本シリーズですが、今回はミドル/ニュースクールclassicsメインの内容。atcq peterock&c.l.smooth,brandnubian,bizmarkie,de la Soul,kmd,gangstarr,mainsource などなど classics満載。特に後半のhansoulproject pudgee alidee naughty by nature(hiphop hooray) へと続く流れはhiphop黄金期のロウな空気がプンプン漂って鳥肌もの！！！さらにbeatles(let it be)でもお馴染みのキーボディストbilly prestonによる大ヒット曲nothing from nothing が一曲目というのも最高。これだけhiphop色濃厚なmix なのに全く違和感がなく、のっけから聞き手をyasuワールドに一気に引きずり込むあたり、流石です。
